  more splurging
Well, I kind-of-sort-of went broke doing it, but I've completed my collection of Midori ni Hibi up to the currently released tanks.

Or I would, if I could remember where the hell I put volume 6.

This picture still looks mildly impressive with it absent, though.

I think I left volume 6 in Shenzhen, but I'm not entirely sure.

I also got around to picking up this:

Initially I wished they still had copies of volume 2 left, but in light of what happened afterwards, it turned out somewhat in my favour.

If they had vol 2 in stock, I might have inadvertedly left myself with only HK$30 (~us$3.80) to feed myself for the next two days instead of the HK$90 I have right now.

  Mmm, Ichigo goodness~

Yay! They're finally here!

Well, my bastard importer finally called me today and told me my manga was in. Finally, after well over a month!

I was hoping to meet Finalpro during his short stay here anyway, so I tried to coax him out for my little manga pickup visit. He agreed, so off we went. When I got there, I made sure to bitch out the guy first ("2-3 weeks my ass!"), but the sight of the manga soothed my mood somewhat. ;)

  The pain!
I... was going to talk about Midori no Hibi volume 6. I've finally started reading after having bought it, like, a month ago.

I can't, however, because I'm suffering from major intestinal pains, and taking a picture of the pages I want to talk about, cleaning them, translating the text and editing them in, and then posting them up is a little beyond what I'm at a capacity of doing right now.

I'm skinny enough as it is, and I have wisdom tooth dental surgery scheduled in a week. This is the worst time to be having indigestion, damn it.

  Aishiteruze Baby volume 5
Gotta have my fix of shoujo manga. <_<

We find out a little more about Kippei's brother Satsuki, or something. He seems... terribly deadpan. And Kippei comes to save Kokoro-chin from that stalker bastard, yay!

It's not much of the cliffhanger for the next volume like vol 4 was, though. Somebody needs to take more lessons in trying to keep volume sales up. ;)

Hahaha, that was great.

  Watch this video!

This video, put together by my once-accomplice-or-something aceleader, who may be a sarcastic bastard at times but is generally very competant at what he does, is rather entertaining.

Osaka commands it!

edit: mirrored the link on my end, cause ace was a whore and pulled the file. bah.

  Chinese Coke
So, Pastel.

This is why I should stop indiscriminately reading everything Ben throws at me.

So says the description on animewave's website, who are translating it, and was pasted to me on ICQ:
"Tadano Mugi just broke up with his girlfriend and his friend, Kazuki, took him to his aunt's store to help out so that he can try and forget about the girl. One day, Mugi was working behind the store and saw a beautiful girl, Tuskisaki Yuu, undressing. Not only did the girl not get mad, but soon, they even became friends, but would it ever be more than that? What will happen between them?"

Sounds promising enough, right? The cover looked kind of cute.

"Ah, what the hell, can't hurt to look at it."

So I started up the torrents and forgot about them for a while. When I checked back, they were done.

And so I read.

And... well... as far as manga went, this is some pretty stereotypical and generic stuff. Nothing happens that I can't predict. There's no really exciting plot developments. Overall, the art is cute enough, but... it's just not COMPELLING in any way.

So said Tim Rogers in his "I LIVE!" blog entry a while back:

Korean Coke and Chinese Coke are too sweet. They're one and the same, actually. [...]I doubt I'll ever get thirsty for a Korean Coke again, because it is not compelling. It has no qualifying qualifiers. I can't classify it easily. It's not interesting. It's just there.

That... just about sums up this manga right there.

So, in conclusion, I wasted a good bit of my time looking at this manga, and I blame it all on Ben.

This definitely isn't something I'll follow closely or read raws of.

In other news, I saw a frozen Windows-powered cash register today. You can check my general/life/ranting blog if you're into that sort of thing.

  Reading Ichigo 100% v10 now
Or rather, reading all the Chinami chapters I skipped because I found her too annoying to be worth squinting at the poor quality scans for.

I would SO use this as an avatar/sig pic if I were a Tsukasa fan.

I'm not, though. :)

  Bastard programmers
I was going to post some images, but Hello seems to be dying on me.

I... am not sure why, either.

I guess I'll try it again after work.

In other news, I passed out at work about an hour ago without realizing it. When I woke up, I felt REALLY thirsty... yet was unable to go refill my mug because my legs were numb as hell. Heh.

Edit: turns out Hello was kicking me off because I was already logged in at home. Bastards, take a cue from every OTHER instant messenger out there and kick off the one CURRENTLY LOGGED IN if that happens. People happen to use more than one computer, you know. :p

... What? Can YOU come up with a better explanation?!

I sure wonder why she married him

pheer my crappy scanlation (god I hate that term) skills!

Mmm, you can almost treat it like an h-doujin and read this without needing to look at the text. <_<

  Okusama wa Jyoushikousei
So, Ben once again tries to whore me into reading something.

She's supposed to be 17? o_O

That... is decidely NOT a body that a 17 year-old should have.

I've looked at the first couple, but... I don't know. It's kind of cute I guess, and the art is definitely nice (mmm, ecchi underage 17 year-old), but... at the page of 4 pages per chapter, it doesn't really seem to GO anywhere.

Then again, I enjoyed Sispri. Heh.
